An American G.I. and a nefarious art dealer face off in a quest to find a ancient relic. Tortured by a need to atone for the past, Lieutenant Mike Blake (Glenn Ford) returns to France in search of the Green Glove, a priceless artifact stolen during the Allied Invasion. But Count Paul Rona (George Macready) is also after the gauntlet and is convinced that Blake has had it all along. Blake finds himself framed for murder and must evade the police and the Count's henchmen in order to track down the glove and return it to the village church where it belongs. With the help of a Paris tour guide (Geraldine Brooks), he hatches a desperate plan to foil the thieves and clear his name before it's too late.
